Radio program honors Denton MOULTON WALW Radio is hosting a program today featuring Sen. Bobby Denton to mark the 50th anniversary of Denton's recording of "A Fallen Star." Recorded at WLAY Studios in Muscle Shoals, the James Joiner-penned song is considered by some as the launching point for the Muscle Shoals music industry. The show will be broadcast at 9:30 p.m. on FM 98.3. The single was released in February 1957 and launched the singing career of Denton, who was a Cherokee High School student at the time. It also helped him earn the nickname "The Singing Senator." The show, "Kim's World of Talent," is hosted by Kimberly and Darrell Glover.
